I discovered this beautiful store in 2017. I started my first painting project at that time when I was going through chemo. I couldn't believe how easy it was to paint with AS chalk paint. I have been painting everything in sight since that time. The thing that makes this story so special is Carrie, the owner, and her team of wonderfully talented ladies that will walk you through any project you want to tackle. You may find yourself leaving with more than chalk paint.
I love this store. Every time I enter it I feel inspired to live the best life I can. Carrie and her Staff go out of their way to make everyone that enters their store feel important and capable. They help turn ugly pieces of furniture into works of art.
I also love how their team is making a difference in our community. A couple weeks ago I had the privilege of participating in a fundraiser that The Passionate home did for Habitat for Humanity, it was an amazing experience. Carrie and her team work to make everyone that comes through their door feel special, and then they go out into the community to bring love and hope to those who may never come into the business. Truly this is a business worth being proud of in Langley! SHOP LOCAL!!!!
The girls at The Passionate Home do such a wonderful job , we are lucky to have such a beautiful soulful shop on our doorstep! It is always such a pleasure to walk in your friendly store and I always feel warm spirited when I leave.
Carrie has always enjoyed helping others with their decorating dilemmas, but it was not until a friend asked her to paint a child's tea table that she discovered her true passion for transforming pieces of furniture that others might consider junk, into one-of-a-kind, re-purposed treasures that breathe new life into a home.
Carrie started down the entrepreneurial road by hunting for all sorts of beautiful furniture and accessories that she could paint and share with others. What began as an extended hobby where she sold her pieces at a two day Show & Sale, has blossomed into The Passionate Home, allowing Carrie to share her love of vintage treasures with others, spend more time with her family and express her love for house and home.
Over the years Carrie's “job” has evolved from “hunting and gathering” to educating, encouraging and bringing value to others in everything they do.
Having studied Fine Arts at Kwantlen College and Emily Carr, Jeannine considers herself a creative person who absolutely loves decorating. For as long as she can remember she would pick up vintage pieces at tag sales and repurpose them into something beautiful. For 8 years she co-owned her own home decor boutique and helped customers with in-home consultations or finding that perfect piece to fit their space.
She really loves working in the decor industry and is over the moon happy to be here at The Passionate Home as the store manager. She loves working with a talented and inspiring team and offering her experience to help you create a beautiful life!
I am a blessed wife and mom to six amazing kids.
I love thrifting , or as I call it “treasure hunting” and I have a passion for rescuing things from the landfill. I was a customer of The Passionate Home for the last 12 years up-cycling, painting and refurbishing so many things and I am thrilled to have joined “the family”.
I always tell people “do what makes your heart sing” and so I am!!! Come say “Hi” ...I’d love to meet you and help you create your beautiful life!.
I believe that creativity is an essential part of us all. We just need to set free the idea that everything needs to be perfect, beauty comes from the imperfections, the intrigue of something being unique. My heart is to inspire women to let go of the false needs of perfection and experience and embrace who they are and what they do.
Everything in life is art, the way we dress, speak, decorate our homes, smile or even love someone. I am blessed to be inspired by our team at The Passionate Home and by you, our valued customers. My passion is to pass on my knowledge in workshops and watch other people pick it up and create new beautiful inspiring unique treasures of their very own.
I consider creating to be a form of self-care, and often turn to my paints as a way to express myself. I love watching an idea in my mind grow into a finished product that I can gift to a friend or family member. My early work (Gr. 2) still hangs over the fireplace in my family home.
Before joining the team at The Passionate Home, I worked in an art gallery where I enjoyed both the business and creative side of the art world.
Learning from Carrie and the rest of the team is helping me find my own artistic flow and broaden my creative capabilities!
I am thrilled to be a part of The Passionate Home team! For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for interior design and decorating.
It wasn’t until I finished studying Studio Art at Capilano University and worked a couple years part-time in retail that I decided to pursue my interest in Visual Merchandising and Display. I began at Caban as the Visual Presentation Manager and then went on to work for Holt Renfrew, Club Monaco and Pottery Barn to name a few places.
I love interior styling, fashion styling, and staging and now at The Passionate Home I can continue pursuing my passion by helping others fulfill their visions for their homes.
Being from an artistic family I have always been interested in working to restore furniture and change decor around my house.
I was a flight attendant and retired recently so I decided to pursue my passion and love for home and design.
I was a customer at The Passionate Home shopping for Chalk Paint™ the same week I retired and when I heard they we hiring I applied and now am happy to be part of the team!
