Transforming a Hutch and Buffet
What began as a very solid but outdated buffet and hutch has been transformed into a stunning statement piece with a little elbow grease from Mark and Chalk Paint™ decorative paint by Annie Sloan in Florence.
Typically we would see someone choose a more neutral colour such as Old White or Paris Grey, so when we feasted our eyes on the finished piece, we couldn't believe how fantastic it looked!
To keep the piece from being too dark, and to allow items displayed on the shelves and in the cabinet to pop, Mark used Pure White on the back paneling of the hutch.
A coat of clear was followed by a coat of dark wax, and the piece has a new lease on life, and has become the centerpiece of Mark's dining area.
